Janmashtami is a grand celebration to commemorate the appearance of Lord
Krishna, who is believed to be
the Supreme Lord or the Lord of the Lords. It is
the celebration of joy, love, and divinity. The story of
Krishna’s appearance
reminds us through Kansa’s actions that ego and pride are the major faults in
human beings which can only doom them.
Every choice we make can be a celebration of the world we want.
To increase the intensity of the celebration of Janmashtami, we will organize a multitude of cultural events, such as drama, classical music performances, shloka recitations, and different dance forms.
We have also organised a whole class of exciting and fun competitions for various primary and high school students. There was a lot of enthusiastic participation in competitions like Shloka recition, Vedic Quiz, Painting and many more.
We have ecstatic kirtans designed to help create internal peace, confidence and joy. Kirtan chanting calms restless minds, promotes clarity of focus and helps dissolve anger and anxiety. It is a loving act of kindness that connects us to our true nature and the universal consciousness we all share on this great occasion of Janmashtami.
As a means to present Bhagawat Gita's perennial philosophy in a concise and visual manner, we have arranged poster presentations that demonstrate the wisdom of ancient India more effectively.
Lord Kapila explains in the third canto of Srimad Bhagavatam one of the most important principles of deity worship is to offer bhoga to the Lord and distribute it as Prasadam to all the souls. This is a way of recognizing the presence of the Lord as Paramatma or Supersoul within everyone’s heart. The best way to elevate one’s consciousness to the level of perceiving the Lord’s presence in everyone is by distributing Prasadam.
Balarama Jayanti marks the birth of our dear Lord Balarama, the elder brother of Lord Krishna. The festival is also known as Baladeva Chhath in the Braja region, while it is usually called by the name Randhan Chhath in Gujarat. In some of the northern states, Balaram Jayanti is known as Lalahi Chhath or Shashti. People and temples from all over the world celebrate the day with full enthusiasm.
